Well hello,

My name is Liesje Lokbi (’83) and I’m a designer - with an artist heart - working from Amsterdam.

My practice moves between design, art, and installation, often taking the form of objects, series, or spatial interventions that function as conversation pieces rather than solutions.

Many of my projects balance lightness with urgency: they may appear cheerful, awkward, or absurd at first glance, while addressing serious themes.

I graduated from the Design Academy Eindhoven in 2014 (Man and Leisure department), after earlier training and work as a makeup artist, specialized in film. Since then, I have developed an independent practice that moves fluidly between autonomous work, editions, and self-initiated projects.

Always open to talk, exchange thoughts and to collaborate.

I work under the name LOKBI.
